Grains ARE Good (…sometimes)

Grains are also known as carbohydrates. All carbohydrates are actually complex sugar molecules. When grains enter your body, they are broken down into glucose to help power the body. But, the issue once again is that we don’t have the proper insulin that would allow our bodies to get this energy. Because we are already low on insulin, it is very important that we are careful about the grains that we eat.

DO…

  • eat whole grains
  • eat quinoa
  • eat cereals that contain fiber, such as cheerios, fiber helps lower cholesterol

DO NOT…

  • eat white bread
  • eat white flour
  • eat large amounts of pasta (a bowl at olive garden is definitely too much)
  • eat white rice
